Your mission
You will be working on one of the most dynamic and emerging research fields linked to the energy transition: Data-driven battery modeling. By developing and applying AI methodology, you will advance battery aging models and simulation tools beyond state-of-the-art.
As part of the collaboration with the HPI, you will partly be working with the Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability research group at the HPI for 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time you will be getting insights into battery degradation aspects and will be working on practical industry problems, deeply embedded in the betteries Analytics Team.
Your profile
  • Completed master’s degree in Physics, Electrochemistry, Elec. Engineering or Computer Sciences with a focus on ML/AI  
  • Research interest in applying ML to physics-based systems (white-box ML), ideally batteries & analysis of ML boundaries  
  • Motivated to work with challenging datasets incl. lab and field data  
  • Excellent English communication skills in writing and verbally  
  • Excellent programming skills in a high-level language (e.g., Python) and low-level language (e.g., C++)    
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary and international team
